Remokon for E-Journal Publishers

Thanks to our "Subscribers Only" technology, you can boost your revenues by allowing only paid subscribers (including institutional subscribers such as libraries) to access your articles.

You can control which contents will be free for all (typically abstracts are provided for free, with full-text being available only to paid subscribers. However, there are some publishers who may wish to provide all full text as free -- that is up to you.

Authentication Types

Remokon contains a "Rights Checker" that determines whether a member has subscription to the journal or not. As a publisher, you can distribute passwords or setup which IP addresses a customer should have access to. Remokon supports the following types of authentications:

• IP Addresses and IP Ranges
• User and Passwords
• REST (Representational State Transfer) , when user and password are passed as parameters
• HTTP-REFERER authentication. We can check that if it was referred by a library that subscribes to your journal, then the patron is legit.
• Via Proxies -- The library can host a gateway software (such as EZProxy).

Document Delivery

At the heart of Remokon is a document delivery system that supports persistent URLs (so the patrons can bookmark them and share them, however, it is available only to those users who are authenticated).

Statistics

Remokon tracks the access to articles and abstracts by Members. Additional sophisticated statistics to comply with COUNTER and WebAnalyrics are available at an additional charge.

Your Look and Feel, Your Subscription Information, Your Content

Your solution will have your look and feel. You can even have your own domain or a subdomain. Remokon is available optionally as a private label solution and nobody has to know that your website is powered by Remokon technology.

The publisher is given a tool to input subscription information that is used to determine the rights. You can even sell subscriptions via integrated Paypal tool or charge for contents on a  "Pay-per-view" basis when the reader doesn't have a subscription.
